Dekton for ventilated facades: the Cosentino case study between production efficiency and architectural value

Studio A-Side's project in San Donato Milanese represents an advanced example of the use of evolved ceramic surfaces. The material chosen is Dekton by Cosentino, a high-density sintered surface that excellently meets aesthetic and technical requirements in ventilated facade systems.

More than 1,100 custom-made Dekton Keranium and Nacre slabs were installed and fixed with KEIL system (DKT1). The 8 mm thick panel ensured ease of handling and installation even in a small site lot (14x21 m), while maintaining high mechanical performance.

Technical and production performance

The advantages of Dekton material for outdoor applications:

  • High resistance to UV, frost, impact, chemicals and abrasion
  • Dimensional stability
  • Low porosity
  • Low maintenance
  • Carbon Neutral certification and 25-year warranty

All of which make Dekton a scalable solution for large-scale production of modular systems for high-performance building envelopes.

Cosentino: innovation and industrial production for the building industry

Cosentino, a global benchmark in technical surfaces, demonstrated with this intervention the potential of Dekton in advanced prefabrication
The material was also perfectly integrated into secondary elements such as thresholds, floors and balconies, creating visual continuity and optimizing the production and installation phases.
