Fantini Mosaici creates the floor of the Da Vittorio Louis Vuitton Café in Milan

On the occasion of the reopening of the historic headquarters of Louis Vuitton at Via Monte Napoleone 2 in Milan, Fantini Mosaici played a leading role in a highly prestigious project: the creation of the floor of the exclusive Da Vittorio Louis Vuitton Café.
The project is part of the broader restoration and enhancement of Palazzo Taverna, an 1835 building designed by Ferdinando Albertolli, today reinterpreted by architect Peter Marino as a multifunctional space that combines fashion, design and dining.

The floor: a mosaic between urban nature and contemporary art

The courtyard, conceived as a refined jardin d’hiver, features at its center a floor that is at once an artwork and a testament to high Italian craftsmanship.
The original design by artist Martin Klein comes to life thanks to a composition of natural marble pebbles laid using the traditional reverse paper mosaic technique.

The materials, all of Italian origin, include:

  • Carrara marble
  • Occhialino
  • Siena Yellow
  • Fior di Pesco

The color shades, ranging from white to gray to black, create an elegant and evocative effect.

Fantini Mosaici for Louis Vuitton in Milan - marble mosaic floor

Completion times and dimensions

The floor covers approximately 88 square meters and required three months of workshop production and twenty days of on-site installation. A result made possible by a highly specialized team able to combine technical expertise and aesthetic sensitivity.

Beyond the courtyard: marble stairs and cladding

The work by Fantini Mosaici is not limited to the courtyard: the company also handled the installation of marble floors, cladding and stairs totaling approximately 2,500 square meters. Among these stands out the spectacular monumental staircase that connects the different levels of the store, becoming one of the most representative architectural elements of the project.

An established collaboration with Louis Vuitton

The partnership between Fantini Mosaici and Louis Vuitton is now well-established: the Italian company has in fact completed projects in the brand’s boutiques around the world, from Portofino to Dubai, from Atlanta to Madrid, and in Florence and Rome, bringing the excellence of the made in Italy to the most exclusive settings of international luxury.
