- Natural stone surfaces
The new Textile Patterns collection, designed by Elena Salmistraro for Lithea, is an example of how marble surfaces can tell stories and emotions. Presented at Salone del Mobile 2025, this collection combines art, architecture and design, reinterpreting the patterns of textile tradition in masterfully carved natural stone.
Lithea: innovation in marble surface processing
Headquartered in Sicily, Lithea is a company specializing in the production of natural stone and marble cladding for interior design and contract. Its collections transform each slab into a sculptural work. Pattern Textiles is the latest testament to its ability to innovate while keeping tradition alive.
The project: decorative surfaces inspired by textiles
The Pattern Textiles collection consists of four patterns: Shepherd, Argyle, Chester and Plaid. Each surface narrates a pattern, bringing the solidity of marble into dialogue with the visual softness of textiles. The result is decorative marble surfaces that stand out for their elegance and uniqueness.

Shepherd: rhythmic marble
The classic Scottish pattern is reinterpreted in Pietra Pece, Travertino and Marrone Emperador, creating a geometric and dynamic composition. An ideal solution for those seeking natural stone cladding with personality.
Argyle: diagonals carved in stone
Inspired by the diamond patterns of wool sweaters, Argyle uses Phoenix White, Imperial Bardiglio and Guatemalan Green to bring to life decorative marble surfaces with strong visual dynamism.
Chester: the upholstered effect in the material
Chester recalls the aesthetic of the famous Chesterfield sofa. Sculpted Ivory White marble, enhanced by Sienna Yellow inserts, generates depth and movement in natural stone surfaces with timeless elegance.
Plaid: contemporary weave
The plaid pattern is rendered through a stone color grid, with sharp lines and directional variations. This sculptural marble version celebrates the balance between textile tradition and material innovation.

With Pattern Textiles, Lithea and Elena Salmistraro redefine the language of natural stone, demonstrating how even the most solid materials can tell stories of lightness, rhythm and beauty. The four surfaces - Shepherd, Argyle, Chester, and Plaid - are not simply decorative marble claddings, but artistic expressions that blend design, architecture, and craftsmanship.
A collection designed for those who want to enhance interiors with marble surfaces capable of surprising, exciting and enduring. Because, when marble becomes fabric, a new way of inhabiting space is born.
