- Natural stone surfaces
The new Antolini® project presented between Milano Design Week 2025 and Marmomac 2025 links art and natural stone surfaces, thanks to the collaboration with Florentine artist Murran Billi. Natural stone here becomes language, narrative and living matter, confirming Antolini®'s role as an international reference for excellence in natural stone surfaces.
At the base of the dialogue is the same vision: matter is not a simple surface, but a geological memory and cultural narrative. Billi interprets natural stone as an archive of signs and stories; Antolini® transforms it into design surfaces, enhancing its translucencies, veins and depth.
Feminine Renaissance: Antolini® natural stone surfaces as custodians of memory
The first chapter of the collaboration is born in the Stoneroom Antolini® MilanoDuomo, where the artist dedicates a series of works to four female figures of the de' Medici family.
The project uses some of Antolini®'s most iconic surfaces, valued for their evocative capacity:
- White Onyx “Extra”
- Persian Green Onyx “Light”
- Pink Crystal “Wow” from the Exclusive Collection
These Antolini® natural stones become material canvases from which faces emerge like revelations. Light passes through the natural stone highlighting veins and translucencies, transforming the surfaces into a visual narrative.
The protagonists are four women symbolic of the Renaissance: Lucrezia Tornabuoni, Clarice Orsini, Lucrezia di Lorenzo de' Medici and Clarice de' Medici.
Thanks to the natural stone surfaces, the artist reveals their presence as if it were already contained in the very matter, ready to resurface.

Catherine de' Medici: backlit natural stone and contemporary vision
At Marmomac 2025, the project evolves with a work dedicated to Catherine de' Medici, made with an extraordinary stone from the Antolini® Exclusive Collection: Cristallo Luminescence “Select”.
Here emerges a central theme of Antolini®'s work: the backlighting of natural stone as a tool to enhance material depth.
The work, composed of a flat surface, slab and monolith, shows a face that appears and disappears thanks to the light, transforming the natural stone into a perceptual device that changes depending on the viewpoint.
The effect is that of a dynamic natural stone surface, capable of telling history and contemporaneity through translucencies and refractions.
Antolini®: excellence in natural stone surfaces and artistic design
The collaboration between Antolini® and Murran Billi reaffirms the company's role as an international reference for high-end natural stone surfaces.
The project shows how natural stone can be:
- a design surface,
- sculptural material,
- a geological archive,
- an aesthetic language,
- a luminous body thanks to backlighting.
The path between Antolini® and Murran Billi creates a bridge between art, natural stone and contemporary design. The Antolini® natural stone surfaces, from the Exclusive Collection to onyx and crystal stones, are not simple materials, but narrative tools capable of revealing memory, light and vision. A project that shows how natural stone continues to be a protagonist in the landscape of surfaces for interiors and architecture.
